I have been slacking in the reading department. It is hard sometime to find the time to just sit down and focus on your new read.
Reading has always been a big part of me. I love books, I love getting lost in different worlds, in different stories. I love laughing out loud or crying because they make me feel all the feels. I love learning from them and feeling accomplished once I finished reading them. I love the hangover they leave behind and the memories you keep from all the different stories. A bookstore or a library is a place I see as an escape where I can just pick up any volume and be transported in another fictional world.
That being said, I honestly feel horrible for putting this behind and not finding the time to dive and finish a book. This is the reason why I decided to create this new series.
Every Friday I will be posting a new Friday Books where I will be reviewing the previous featured book and I will be posting my next read. That way, I will have an excuse to make more time for reading as well as hopefully inspiring some of you to pick up one of the volumes and find a story to get lost in.
Starting this month on the right track, here is the first book I will be reading:
More than this
by Patrick Ness
A boy drowns, desperate and alone in his final moments. He dies.
Then he wakes, naked and bruised and thirsty, but alive.
How can this be? And what is this strange deserted place?
As he struggles to understand what is happening, the boy dares to hope. Might this not be the end? Might there be more to this life, or perhaps this afterlife?
From multi-award-winning Patrick Ness comes one of the most provocative and moving novels of our time.
